I know nothing about HTML. How can I design a website on my own?

By Trading Pro System · July 4, 2010 · Filed in Investing for Beginners

I would like to design my own website but I never learnt programming or that kind of stuff at school. I’ve heard of programs such as Dreamweaver and Frontpage, but I don’t know how to use any of them. Another thing, how can I tell which is a good program to invest in for a beginner like me?

Dear Honey Bunny

I believe you can get a great answer to your question at http://getfreeadvicehere.blogspot.com/

Whatever you decide, have fun. The hardest part is deciding to take action. Once you dip your toe in the water, it’s never as daunting as it seems.

Take care.

Maybe you should try Tripod first.

Good free and with a starter package.

Easiest is to use Netscape Composer version 4.x. Do not use any newer version. It is a WYSIWYG editor. No HTML knowledge is required. If you have trouble finding Netscape 4.x, send me an email. I have about 50 websites, and I use Netscape for about 90% of my web authoring.

Netscape Composer comes with the Netscape browser and is free. You will be able to make pages quickly and they can be seen in all browsers. Do not use Front Page as it does not translate well in some browsers at times. Dreamweaver is too complicated for the beginner.

frontpage is great for beginners. its quite similar to powerpoint but i suggest you learn a few things about the coding of html because you might want to make a few changes on the coding yourself.

the best html tutorial on the web I have seen is at http://www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/tut/ good luck

I love LissaExplains.com. I have been designing for years, but every time I have a problem I still refer back to her site. She can help you start to finish!

The best way for me I think is you visit this website…

Have fun!

There are so many sites there now that can help you with that. But mostly how I learned was through trial and error. Dreamweaver is really helpful.

Try these:
http://www.htmldog.com
http://www.tizag.com

use a program like adobe dreamweaver

Please type ucoz.ru its free web site building service you can register there and host a free domain its like you personal website name and you design it through the easy steps as easy as 2+2. Its very easy believe me

Use Microsoft Front Page.

1. Open it. (Should be set on Design which is a tab on the lower left).
2. Go to Format and Backround. There you can edit the colors of your text and your backround.
3. Add pictures by going to Insert, Picture, From File so you add a picture that’s on your hard drive.
Make sure that you upload it to a place like Photobucket. Get the URL and go to the HTML tab on the lower left of Front Page. Find where that file is in the HTML code and erase what is there that states the picture file. Add the URL in its place.
4. After it’s all said and done you can copy the HTML and paste it into your HTML manager (who ever is hosting it should have that option).

Why spend more money than you need to?
All you need is the simple text editor that your computer comes with.

You will spend a lot less money buying a book and learning how to make a website the right way than to purchase an expansive program you might not be able to use.

It depend on the content you want to have in your website.
Start of like this
Just by using MS-Word you can create a webpage, while saving just save it as HTMl and upload in your webpage.

Try using freeware like the following.

WebPlus

!st Page 2000

I recommend learning html. It is fun and there are lots of free tutorials online. All you have to do is Google for them, but you can also try the free open source html editor Nvu or its variation called Kompozer. Both are at http://www.nvu.com/

beginner programs:
i bet you didn’t know Microsoft Word and PowerPoint can save documents in website form!
FrontPage is simple and easy to use
Software by CoffeeCup
As you get better, look into getting something like Adobe GoLive and
DreamWeaver

once you have your html document and images that make up the site (and later, css, java script, and other files), the following websites will let you upload your site as part of theirs. this simply means sending your files to their computer.

tripod is good: http://tripid.com
http://geocities.com
http://angelfire.com
http://groups.msn.com
http://awardspace.com
http://atspace.com
http://stormloader.com

those are the basic sites, but for more info (other sites that should answer all these questions), check out http://del.icio.us/jeristern/webdesign

http://del.icio.us/jeristern/javascript
http://del.icio.us/jeristern/css

also try good searches like:
html
design
"web design"
css
and other combonations of what you’re looking for

visit your local library and ask for books on web design and web design programs.

Get a host. I have bluehost which has a html editor that is very easy to use. I tried dreamweaver to and didn’t like it much. Html is pretty easy, but if you have no clue, just search what you need in google. For example if you need to know how to put an image on a page, just search html image codes. Also this site has a lot of basic html coding :

http://www.w3schools.com

From buying the domain to putting it on the host.
