How to receive approval for the Trade Adjustment Act for workers who have lost their jobs to outsourcing?

By Sammy · August 28, 2010 · Filed in Trading Education · 1 Comment »

We are a group of dislocated workers that have been trying to receive approval for a grant for education from the Trade Adjustment Act for the last seven months. Our jobs were outsourced to India last year and we have filed twice now with the U.S. Dept. of Labor and also requested the assistance of our local Congresswoman. We have contacted our state representative as well and received no help at the state level either. If anyone has any ideas on how to obtain approval, it would be greatly appreciated.

Can any of the potential presidential candidates undo the damage GWB had done?

At this point, not one, unless I missed something, has said anything about what they will do to correct the problems of security, Iraq, immigration, trade, economy, energy, education, global warming, health, and other socio-economic issues. I really hope the next president will not "cry over spilled milk".

What kind of position/career could a slow (borderline mentally challenged) person do?

        By Sammy · August 21, 2010 · Filed in Trading Education · 3 Comments »

I have a young cousin that recently graduated high school (she was always in special needs classes), and she recently failed out of community college. I was looking for some good ideas on training schools/trade schools/higher education courses that she would be able to succeed in, that would not be too challenging for her, (something other than a career as a super market cashier). Thanks!!

Please help with my research project. What were the most influential documents ever written?

        By Sammy · August 20, 2010 · Filed in Trading Education · 7 Comments »

Feel free to list as many or few as you choose. Please prioritize in order of importance, 1 being most influential, 2 being less, etc.

Consider things like politics, religion, human migration, arts, trade, ecology, education, communication, health, and plant/animal domestication. Keep in mind, this is a big planet with a long history and many cultures and sects within religions.

I don’t need reasons, but will compile them if provided.

I don’t need demographics, but again will compile them if provided. If so, please supply any or all of the following: age, sex, race, religion, political affiliation (liberal, moderate, conservative), income bracket (high, medium, low), education level, and country.

Please do not supply any personally identifying information or any of the above if you do not see fit.

Thanks for your time and thought.
